1. Bibimbap(๋น๋น๋ฐฅ)
Bibimbap, sometimes romanized as bi bim bap or bi bim bop, is a Korean rice dish. The term “bibim” means mixing various ingredients, while the “bap” noun refers to rice. Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul or kimchi and gochujang, soy sauce, or doenjang.
2. Kimchi(๊น์น)
Kimchi is a fermented vegetable dish. Kimchi is often mixed with other vegetables like radish, onion, and garlic. It makes for a great low-carb, vegan snack and can be prepared in countless ways. Some regional varieties are made with cucumber, and kimchi often has a spicy kick thanks to the red pepper flakes in it.
3. Bulgogi(๋ถ๊ณ ๊ธฐ)
Bulgogi, literally "fire meat", is a gui made of thin, marinated slices of beef or pork grilled on a barbecue or on a stove-top griddle. It is also often stir-fried in a pan in home cooking. Sirloin, rib eye or brisket are frequently used cuts of beef for the dish.
4. Haejangguk(ํด์ฅ๊ตญ)
Haejang-guk or hangover soup refers to all kinds of guk or soup eaten as a hangover cure in Korean cuisine. It means "soup to chase a hangover" and is also called sulguk. It usually consists of dried Napa cabbage, vegetables and meat in a hearty beef broth.
5. Samgyetang(์ผ๊ณํ)
Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) is a nourishing soup that is made with a small, young chicken for its tender and tasty meat. The ginseng flavored meat is tasty and tender, and the broth is rich and delicious!
6. Samgyeopsal(์ผ๊ฒน์ด)
Samgyeopsal is an extremely popular Korean BBQ dish because the cooking and eating is done at that table. It is really social and a great party food. It's also pretty simple to make, and because everyone pretty much helps themselves it's easy to serve, too.
7. Japchae(์ก์ฑ)
Japchae translates as mixed vegetables. When it was first invented in the 17th century, japchae was a noodle-less dish. But nowadays, the main highlight of the dish is glass noodles, which is made from sweet potatoes, along with colorful vegetables and well-seasoned meat.
8. Hobak-juk(ํธ๋ฐ์ฃฝ)
Hobak-juk or pumpkin porridge is a variety of juk made with pumpkin and glutinous rice flour. It is a smooth and naturally sweet porridge that is traditionally served to recovering patients or the elderly.
9. Seolleongtang(์ค๋ ํ)
Seolleongtang also known as ox bone soup has been a typical Korean food for centuries dating back at Joseon Dynasty. The savoury tasty of the milky white broth is highlighted by the simplicity of preparation which involves beef bones, garlic, scallions and black pepper.
10. Hotteok(ํธ์)
Hotteok is a variety of filled Korean pancake, and is a popular street food of Korea. The chewy hotteok dough is fried in a little oil in a hot pan to make a golden crispy outer shell surrounding a cinnamony, hot, syrupy center laced with chopped walnuts.
